So a little about me… I like to be busy, whether working, volunteering or seeing family and friends. My favourite meeting place is a coffee shop, I can never have enough coffee! And if you’re an animal lover, always feel free to ask to see photos of my beautiful house bunny rabbit, Fliss.
My background includes working with young children and families and in recent years working for a National charity supporting those affected by crime. These experiences have shown me the ability for peer groups to aid recovery, most recently for those affected by the UK terror attacks, and as such I am in the process of starting my own Community Interest Company supporting people through this approach – Busy times ahead! I volunteer where I can and I am currently Chair of my GP Practice Patient Participation Group (Shipley and Westcliffe PPG) and an active member of the local Patient Network and its Steering Group. I bring all of this experience with me to the People’s Board and understand the importance of using these networks to ensure the widest views of people in Bradford are heard.
I am passionate about patients being at the heart of NHS decision-making and the only way to make this a reality is to ensure patient voices are heard where it matters so they have the ability to truly influence services. This is exactly why the People’s Board came to be. I am a big believer in the power of volunteering and have seen the difference #peoplepower has to make a change. So lets do this together!
